One of the strongest natural desires we all have is freedom of expression.

The MOCAH experience offers the often overlooked and under represented classes of our youth a chance to acknowledge themselves through art.
The MOCAH experience provides artists and non-artists alike with the opportunity to discover their own artistic sensibilities through hands-on art experiences that encourage and nurture the creative process.

Participants work alongside professional artists to create our public art projects and programs.
Students and community members involved in the MOCAH experience play a vital role in the reclamation and preservation of their own community.

The infusion of art, history and culture stimulates community pride, stewardship and neighborhood revitalization.
The MOCAH experience places the public in public art by engaging the community in the creation of our art projects. These projects help transform our neighborhoods into cultural and artistic destinations.

The impact that these projects have on the community are long lasting and reach broad and diverse audiences.

2012 Hip Hop for HIV Testing Dates

June 25 – June 28 at Greenspoint Mall
10am – 6pm

July 9 – July 12 at Greenspoint Mall
10am – 6pm

July 30 – August 2 at Sharpstown High School

HIP HOP for HIV Awareness is adding a new element to the testing campaign! This year, HIP HOP for HIV, MOCAH and The T.R.U.T.H Project will join with Alere to help HIP HOP participants create works of art and in exchange Alere will donate one HIV Clearview Test Kit for each artwork completed to communities that cannot afford HIV testing. We are looking for artists to volunteer and help the participants create the best works possible. Tons or art supplies will be on hand to make this experience unique, fun and rewarding. Together, we can help Houston change the way we look at the (+) sign. Artists please register to join us for this year’s Hip Hop for HIV and share your time and talent with our participants by utilizing the form below.

Make (+) More Positive, The T.R.U.T.H Project, MOCAH and ART ANGEL’s is a unique collaborative campaign designed to help participating youth and young adults express their creativity as well as understand HIV differently.
