Starbucks known for their liquid lightning brewed another coffee revolution with over 9,000 employees volunteering their efforts along with Volunteer Houston, Fifth Ward Community Redevelopment Corporation and the Museum of Cultural Arts Houston. The collaborative efforts meant that the employees made a considerable donation in sweat equity with 227 Public Art projects that compiled of 4 canvas murals, 3 mosaic tile public benches, 2 City of Houston Seals, 146 garden signs, 2 mosaic tile 5th Ward entrance signs, and one mosaic tile monument honoring 5th Wards historical transformation in the community.
Starbucks employees created these Public Art works at the George R. Brown Convention Center Friday, October 4, 2012 with the ending culmination of one mosaic tile installation at the 5th Ward entrance Saturday, October 5, 2012.
