WHO Can Volunteer?
So you say you can’t draw a stick figure? MOCAH has volunteer opportunities for ALL! Art Angels Volunteer Network promotes social wellness through volunteerism and creative philanthropy. MOCAH’s award winning public art programming provides volunteers with opportunities to experience being a part of public art. Our network of volunteer talent makes it possible for MOCAH to extend creative opportunities to support groups, healthcare facilities and schools. Help MOCAH bring the best of the cultural arts to the Houston area. Whether you enjoy helping out in the art studio, the classroom, the art gallery, working in an office, or meeting and greeting, MOCAH has a volunteer opportunity for you!
Individual Volunteers
MOCAH is grateful to the hundreds of community members who donate their time and talent to make our community a more inclusive place for creativity. We believe training volunteers is important and gives them a better understanding of our mission. Therefore, all individual volunteers who will be providing ongoing service must:
• Submit a complete volunteer application (At least 14 years old)
• Attend a one volunteer orientation prior to providing service.
• Commit to providing a total of at least 25 hours of service.
We are here to HELP make your volunteer experience a great one! School Group Volunteers
MOCAH welcomes school groups from local public, independent and parochial schools. Opportunities for groups include assisting in our Bayou City Art Festival activities hosted twice a year as well as other large-group activities hosted at MOCAH Studios. Generally, we can accommodate approximately 25 students at one location (5:1 students per chaperon) We prefer to come and speak to your students about volunteer opportunities at MOCAH in advance of your service date. Corporate Community Volunteers
We welcome opportunities to engage corporate partners in reaching Art Angels mission to promote social wellness through volunteerism and creative philanthropy. Corporate volunteer grant programs provide monetary donations to eligible nonprofits as a way to recognize employees who volunteer. Service projects such as I heART Service Day, an Annual Day of Creative Community Service designed to engage corporate partners in the true process of providing public art gifts throughout Houston communities through their volunteer efforts. Creative Talent Volunteers
MOCAH seeks Muralist, Painters, Illustrators, Ceramicists, Writers, Poets, Photographers, Videographers, Graphic Artists & other creative talent to work with. By joining students with professional artists we are able to reinforce the impact and value that creative work has on the community while providing the youth with hands on community development experience. We develop and create innovative public art projects that allow artists, communities, and businesses to collaborate successfully and often times draw from our pool of volunteer talent to fill project request that we may be unable to accommodate by passing the referral on to those we can reference. How Do I Become A MOCAH Art Angel Volunteer?
STEP 1: VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
Art Angels Volunteer Network is proud to announce our new volunteer management system using Volgistics, This allows our volunteers to submit online applications, view opportunities, fill openings, check schedules, track hours and more!
(NOTE: Returning volunteer members, click here to receive your user name and password so you may log in to update your information OR simply resubmit a new application)
STEP 2: VOLUNTEER LOG-IN
After completing your volunteer application, you will receive a link to log into your volunteer profile. This system will allow you to schedule and maintain your own volunteer assignments, committee interests and updates for upcoming orientations.
STEP 3: VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We will also keep you updated on our upcoming calendar of events and volunteer opportunities through our newsletter and updates.
